Yesus "melenyapkan segala penyakit dan kelemahan"

Kej. 32:22-32; Mzm. 17:1,2-3,6-7,8b,15; Mat. 9:32-38.

"Ia mengajar dalam rumah-rumah ibadat dan memberitakan Injil Kerajaan Sorga serta melenyapkan segala penyakit dan kelemahan." (Mat 9,35)

Yesus "melenyapkan segala penyakit dan kelemahan". Penginjil Matius mengulang pernyataan ini sampai 8x (4,24; 8,16; 9,35; 12,15; 14,36; 15,31; 19,2; 21,14). Hal ini menegaskan bahwa Yesus adalah penyembuh yang universal: segala penyakit dan kelemahan. Tidak seorang pun dan tidak satu penyakit atau kelemahan pun dikecualikan oleh Yesus. Demikian pula tidak ada satu pun penyakit atau kelemahan yang dimaksudkan oleh Tuhan sebagai hukuman atau kutuk sehingga tak dapat dilenyapkan. Tentu, kita harus memahami makna lenyapnya penyakit ini dalam dua hal: yang pertama lenyap sementara di dunia ini karena suatu saat bisa datang kembali dan lenyap secara total karena Tuhan menganugerahkan hidup baru kepada kita di surga. Selama kita masih hidup di dunia ini, kita bisa mengatasi berbagai kelemahan kita, namun pada dasarnya daging kita ini lemah dan rapuh. Baru, nanti ketika daging kita ini lenyap, kembali menjadi debu tanah, kita akan terbebas sama sekali dari kelemahan. Pada saat itulah kita menerima anugerah hidup baru, di mana segala macam penyakit dan kelemahan tidak ada lagi. Sebagai anugerah, tentu bukanlah hasil perjuangan kita sendiri tetapi buah dari karya penebusan Yesus. Oleh karena itu, tanpa iman kepada-Nya, penyakit dan kelemahan tetap tinggal sebagai duka dan derita tanpa jalan keluar. Namun, dalam iman kepada Tuhan, keduanya akan dilenyapkan dan diganti dengan anugerah hidup dan kebahagiaan kekal.

Doa: Tuhan, anugerahilah kami selalu iman yang menyelamatkan, yang melenyapkan segala penyakit dan kelemahan. Amin. -agawpr-

“…..Tak ada orang yang dapat menyenangkan Tuhan dan menyenangkan para musuh Tuhan [yaitu Iblis dan para pengikutnya] pada saat yang sama. Ia yang ingin menyenangkan mereka yang menentang Tuhan bukanlah sahabat Tuhan; dan ia yang tunduk/ taat kepada kebenaran akan berjuang melawan mereka yang menentang kebenaran. (St. Gregorius, In Ezechielem homiliae, 9)

Doa Pagi

Allah Bapa Mahakudus, ajarilah kami mengenal nama-Mu dan kuduskanlah kami kepada Yesus, Putra-Mu. Semoga Yesus menjadi lambang perjanjian-Mu dengan kami. Sebab Dialah Tuhan, Pengantara kami, yang bersama dengan Dikau dalam persatuan Roh Kudus, hidup dan berkuasa, Allah, sepanjang segala masa. Amin.

Perjumpaan Yakub dengan Allah membawa perubahan dalam hidupnya. Perjumpaan tersebut sekaligus meneguhkan perjalanan hidupnya.

Bacaan dari Kitab Kejadian (32:22-32)   

 

"Namamu selanjutnya adalah Israel sebab engkau bergumul melawan Allah dan engkau menang."

      

Pada suatu malam Yakub bangun dan membawa kedua isterinya, kedua budaknya perempuan dan kesebelas anaknya. Ia menyeberang di tempat penyeberangan Sungai Yabok. Sesudah menyeberangkan mereka, ia menyeberangkan juga segala miliknya. Lalu tinggallah Yakub seorang diri. Maka terjadilah: seorang laki-laki bergulat dengan Yakub sampai fajar menyingsing. Ketika orang itu melihat, bahwa ia tidak dapat mengalahkan Yakub, ia memukul sendi pangkal paha Yakub, sehingga sendi itu terpelecok, ketika Yakub bergulat dengan orang itu. Lalu kata orang itu, “Biarkanlah aku pergi, karena fajar telah menyingsing.” Sahut Yakub, “Aku tidak akan membiarkan dikau pergi, jika engkau tidak memberkati aku.” Bertanyalah orang itu kepadanya, “Siapakah namamu?” Sahutnya, “Yakub.” Lalu kata orang itu, “Namamu bukan lagi Yakub, melainkan Israel, sebab engkau telah bergumul melawan Allah dan manusia, dan engkau menang.” Bertanyalah Yakub, “Katakanlah juga namamu.” Tetapi sahutnya, “Mengapa engkau menanyakan namaku?” Lalu diberkatinyalah Yakub di situ. Yakub menamai tempat itu Pniel, sebab katanya, “Aku telah melihat Allah berhadapan muka, tetapi aku tetap hidup!” Ketika meninggalkan Pniel, Yakub melihat matahari terbit; Yakub pincang karena terkilir sendi pangkal pahanya. Sampai sekarang orang Israel tidak memakan daging yang menutup sendi pangkal paha, karena sendi pangkal paha Yakub telah dipukul, yaitu pada otot pangkal pahanya.
Demikianlah sabda Tuhan

Yesus meneguhkan para murid-Nya untuk bekerja sama dengan-Nya dalam mewartakan kabar keselamatan dan kasih Allah. Dia juga berharap akan semakin banyak orang yang turut serta dalam jalan pengabdian ini.

Inilah Injil Yesus Kristus menurut Matius (9:32-38)

   

"Tuaian memang banyak, tetapi sedikitlah pekerjanya!"

      
Pada suatu hari dibawalah kepada Yesus seorang bisu yang kerasukan setan. Setelah setan diusir, orang bisu itu dapat berbicara. Maka heranlah orang banyak, katanya, “Hal semacam itu belum pernah dilihat orang di Israel!” Tetapi orang berkata, “Dengan kuasa penghulu setan Ia mengusir setan.” Demikianlah Yesus berkeliling ke semua kota dan desa; mengajar dalam rumah-rumah ibadat dan mewartakan Injil Kerajaan Surga serta melenyapkan segala penyakit dan kelemahan. Melihat orang banyak itu tergeraklah hati Yesus oleh belas kasih kepada mereka, karena mereka lelah dan terlantar seperti domba yang tidak bergembala. Maka kata Yesus kepada murid-murid-Nya, “Tuaian memang banyak, tetapi sedikitlah pekerjanya. Karena itu mintalah kepada tuan yang empunya tuaian, supaya ia mengirimkan pekerja-pekerja untuk tuaian itu.”
Berbahagialah orang yang mendengarkan sabda Tuhan dan tekun melaksanakannya.
U. Sabda-Mu adalah jalan, kebenaran dan hidup kami.
   
Renungan
      
Yesus amat jeli melihat kebutuhan manusia. Mereka lelah dan terlantar seperti domba yang tidak bergembala. Ia mengajak kita untuk bertekun dalam doa meminta tenaga pekerja. Tuaian yang banyak tidak boleh ditelantarkan hanya karena kekurangan tenaga. Allah yang empunya tuaian pasti akan mengirim pekerja-Nya. Dia tidak mau umat-Nya terlantar. Percayalah, Gereja akan hidup dan berjaya meski tenaga juga tetap terbatas. Percayalah, Tuhan akan terus mengirimkan para pekerja asal kita tidak pernah berhenti berdoa dan meminta kepada-Nya. Bagaimana selama ini, apakah Anda sering berdoa bagi panggilan dalam Gereja?

Melihat orang banyak tergeraklah hati Yesus oleh belas kasih, karena mereka lelah dan terlantar seperti domba tanpa gembala.

Doa Malam

Ya Allah, kami telah mendapat gembala yang akan membimbing kami ke tanah perjanjian, yaitu Yesus Mesias. Kami mohon, perkenankanlah kami mematuhi sabda-Nya. Sebab Dialah Tuhan, Pengantara kami. Amin.

Tanpa iman maka sakit dan kematian hanya akan menjadi derita yang sia-sia

Hari Biasa Pekan XIV

"Teguhkanlah hatimu, hai anak-Ku, imanmu telah menyelamatkan engkau." (Mat 9,22)

Dalam hidup ini, kita mempunyai dua sahabat yang amat istimewa, yakni sakit dan kematian. Dalam keadaan kita sebaik apa pun, keduanya tetap dekat dengan kita, bahkan tiba-tiba bisa menjadi sangat dekat dan menyatu dengan kita. Anehnya, secara manusiawi kita seringkali merasa takut pada kedua sahabat tersebut. Nah, berhadapan dengan rasa takut tersebut, hanya imanlah yang menjadi jawaban. Hanya iman kepada Tuhan yang memampukan kita berdamai dengan kedua sahabat kita itu. Bahkan lebih dari itu. Iman kita akan membuat penyakit dan kematian yang sering kita takuti itu justru menjadi sarana bagi kita untuk menerima anugerah keselamatan. Karena iman, penyakit yang kita derita membuat kita dapat ikut serta merasakan derita Kristus di salib demi keselamatan kita. Karena iman, kematian hanya mengakhiri hidup kita di dunia ini tetapi sesungguhnya memulai hidup baru di surga. Dengan kata lain, tanpa iman maka sakit dan kematian hanya akan menjadi derita yang sia-sia, namun dengan iman keduanya justru menjadi sahabat baik yang mengantar kita pada keselamatan dan persatuan dengan Tuhan.

Doa: Tuhan, anugerahilah kami selalu iman kepada-Mu karena hanya dengan iman itulah kami selamat. Amin. -agawpr-

Allah Bapa yang mahapengasih, Engkaulah tanah tempat kami berpijak. Kami bersyukur kepada-Mu atas kehadiran-Mu di tengah-tengah kami menyehatkan jiwa raga kami. Maka kami mohon, semoga Engkau tetap beserta kami. Dengan pengantaraan Kristus, Putra-Mu, Tuhan kami, yang bersama dengan Dikau dalam persatuan Roh Kudus, hidup dan berkuasa, Allah, sepanjang segala masa. Amin.

Bacaan dari Kitab Kejadian (28:10-22a)     

 

"Yakub melihat sebuah tangga, melihat malaikat Allah turun naik, dan melihat Allah yang bersabda."

Pada waktu itu Yakub berangkat dari Bersyeba dan pergi ke Haran. Ia sampai di suatu tempat dan bermalam di situ, karena matahari telah terbenam. Ia mengambil sebuah batu yang terletak di tempat itu, dan dipakainya sebagai alas kepala. Lalu ia membaringkan diri di tempat itu. Dalam mimpi ia melihat sebuah tangga yang didirikan di atas bumi dengan ujungnya sampai di langit. Lalu tampaklah malaikat-malaikat Allah turun naik di tangga itu. Berdirilah Tuhan di samping Yakub dan bersabda, “Akulah Tuhan, Allah Abraham, nenekmu, dan Allah Ishak. Tanah tempat engkau berbaring ini akan Kuberikan kepadamu dan kepada keturunanmu. Keturunanmu akan menjadi seperti debu di tanah banyaknya, dan engkau akan mengembang ke sebelah timur, barat, utara dan selatan; melalui engkau dan melalui keturunanmu, semua kaum di muka bumi akan mendapat berkat. Sesungguhnya Aku menyertai engkau, dan Aku akan melindungi engkau, ke mana pun engkau pergi, dan Aku akan membawa engkau kembali ke negeri ini. Aku tidak akan meninggalkan dikau. Aku akan melakukan apa yang Kujanjikan kepadamu.” Ketika Yakub bangun dari tidurnya, berkatalah ia, “Sesungguhnya Tuhan ada di tempat ini, dan aku tidak mengetahuinya.” Ia takut dan berkata, “Alangkah dahsyatnya tempat ini. Ini tidak lain dari rumah Allah! Ini pintu gerbang surga! “Keesokan harinya, pagi-pagi, Yakub mengambil batu yang dipakainya sebagai alas kepala dan mendirikannya menjadi tugu, dan menuangkan minyak di atasnya. Ia menamai tempat itu Betel; dahulu nama kota itu Lus. Lalu bernazarlah Yakub, “Jika Allah menyertai dan melindungi aku di jalan yang kutempuh ini dan jika Ia memberikan kepadaku roti untuk dimakan serta pakaian untuk dipakai, sehingga aku selamat kembali ke rumah ayahku, maka Tuhan akan menjadi Allahku. Dan batu yang kudirikan sebagai tugu ini akan menjadi rumah Allah. Dari segala sesuatu yang Engkau berikan kepadaku akan selalu kupersembahkan sepersepuluh kepada-Mu.”

1. Orang yang duduk dalam lindungan Yang Mahatinggi dan bermalam dalam naungan Yang Mahakuasa akan berkata kepada Tuhan, "Tuhanlah tempat perlindungan dan kubu pertahananku, Allahku, yang kupercayai."
2. Sungguh, Dialah yang akan melepaskan engkau dari jerat perangkap burung, dari penyakit sampar yang busuk. Dengan kepak-Nya Ia akan menudungi engkau, di bawah sayap-Nya engkau akan berlindung, kesetiaan-Nya adalah perisai dan pagar tembok.
3. Sungguh hatinya melekat kepada-Ku, maka Aku akan meluputkannya, Aku akan membentenginya, sebab ia mengenal nama-Ku. Bila ia berseru kepada-Ku, Aku akan menjawab, "Aku akan menyertai dia dalam kesesakan."

Inilah Injil Yesus Kristus menurut Matius (9:18-26)

    

"Anakku baru saja meninggal; tetapi datanglah, maka ia akan hidup."

Sekali peristiwa datanglah kepada Yesus seorang kepala rumah ibadat. Ia menyembah Dia dan berkata, “Anakku perempuan baru saja meninggal; tetapi datanglah, letakkanlah tangan-Mu atasnya, maka Ia akan hidup.” Lalu Yesus pun bangun dan bersama murid-murid-Nya mengikuti orang itu. Pada waktu itu seorang wanita yang sudah dua belas tahun lamanya menderita pendarahan maju mendekati Yesus dari belakang dan menjamah jumbai jubah-Nya. Karna katanya dalam hati, “Asal kujamah saja jubah-Nya, aku akan sembuh.” Tetapi Yesus berpaling dan memandang dia serta berkata, “Teguhkanlah hatimu, hai anakku, imanmu telah menyelamatkan dikau.” Maka sejak saat itu juga sembuhlah wanita itu. Ketika Yesus tiba di rumah kepala rumah ibadat itu dan melihat peniup-peniup seruling serta orang banyak yang ribut, berkatalah Ia, “Pergilah! Karena anak ini tidak mati, tetapi tidur!” Tetapi mereka menertawakan Dia. Setelah orang banyak itu diusir, Yesus masuk. Dipegang-Nya tangan si anak, lalu bangkitlah anak itu. Maka tersiarlah kabar tentang hal itu ke seluruh daerah.
Inilah Injil Tuhan kita!
U. Sabda-Mu sungguh mengagumkan!

Renungan

Hal yang sangat luar biasa yang selalu kita temukan pada Yesus dalam beragam karya-Nya adalah rasa belas kasih. Gestur ini selalu menjadi jiwa dari komunikasi-Nya dengan semua orang yang mengikuti-Nya, tetapi terlebih kepada mereka yang menderita sakit. Bacaan Injil hari ini mengisahkan kenyataan ini. Ia menghibur seorang wanita yang dengan penuh iman menjamah jubah-Nya: ”Teguhkanlah hatimu hai anak-Ku, imanmu telah menyelamatkan engkau” (Mat. 9:22), Ia juga menghibur seorang kepala rumah ibadat yang sedang duka karena putrinya meninggal ”…..anak ini tidak mati, tetapi tidur” (Mat. 9:24).

Sapaan penuh belas kasih dari Tuhan itu masih tetap hidup kini, melalui Gereja-Nya. Sapaan itu akan selalu menjadi hiburan yang mengembalikan harapan hidup setiap orang pada zaman ini. Sapaan penuh belas kasih-Nya itu menyapa setiap pribadi yang risau dan galau, menyapa setiap saudara yang sakit dan menderita, menyapa setiap saudara yang putus asa, menyapa setiap keluarga yang resah akan hidupnya. Singkat kata, melalui beragam sarana, melalui beragam pribadi, Tuhan menyapa dunia dan manusia zaman ini dengan penuh belas kasih seraya mengajak untuk selalu ”percaya” kepada penyelenggaraan-Nya yang melintasi bumi ini.

Tuhan, ajarilah aku untuk selalu percaya akan penyelenggaraan-Mu yang selalu terbentang sepanjang hidupku. Amin. (Ziarah Batin 2015, Renungan dan Catatan Harian)

Tuhan itu pengasih dan penyayang, panjang kesabaran-Nya dan besar kasih setia-Nya. Tuhan baik terhadap semua orang, penuh kasih setia terhadap segala ciptaan-Nya.

Ia merasa heran atas ketidakpercayaan mereka. Lalu Yesus berjalan keliling dari desa ke desa sambil mengajar.

Hari Minggu Biasa XIV 

Yeh. 2:2-5; Mzm. 123:1-2a,2bcd,3-4; 2Kor. 12:7-10; Mrk. 6:1-6

 Ia merasa heran atas ketidakpercayaan mereka. Lalu Yesus berjalan keliling dari desa ke desa sambil mengajar. 

Pengalaman tidak dipercaya, apalagi ditolak, merupakan sesuatu yang menyakitkan. Bisa jadi membuat orang terpuruk dan mandeg karena kehilangan kepercayaan diri ataupun harapan masa depan. Namun, tidak demikian dengan Yesus sebab Ia tidak mencari popularitas diri sendiri tetapi melulu untuk melaksanakan kehendak Bapa. Penolakan yang dialami di Nazaret, tempat asal-Nya sendiri, kendati memunculkan rasa heran dalam hati-Nya, namun tidak menyurutkan apalagi menghentikan misi-Nya. Ia tetap memandang ke depan dengan penuh harapan. Untuk itulah, Ia meninggalkan Nazaret dan pergi ke tempat-tempat lain sambil mengajar. Semoga, pada saat-saat kita mengalami kegagalan, penolakan atau tidak dipercaya, kita pun tidak patah semangat. Tetap mempunyai harapan dan berani untuk pergi ke "tempat lain", guna mewujudkan apa yang menjadi misi dan tugas perutusan kita. Kalau apa yang kita perjuangkan itu sesuatu yang baik dan sesuai dengan kehendak Tuhan, kita yakin meski pada saat tertentu atau di tempat tertentu kita ditolak dan tidak dipercaya, kita harus tetap memperjuangkannya. Kita percaya dan tetap berharap agar suatu saat apa yang kita perjuangkan tersebut dapat berhasil dan berbuah. 
 
Doa: Tuhan, berilah kami keteguhan untuk menjalankan tugas perutusan kami, kendati suatu saat kami mengalami kegagalan, penolakan atau tidak dipercaya. Amin. -agawpr-
